Final Fantasy IX

Square-Enix's most recent synopsis of Final Fantasy's 9th installment is nothing short of dramatic:

クリスタル、再び。
The crystal returns
As we continue to live by life's current.

With anxiety, questions and sorrow
There's something we each seek.

Zidane to find one to protect
Vivi to find the meaning of existence
And Garnet to find herself.

The return of crystal and a new order of life that accompanied it all... FFIX might be light-hearted by tone and cutesy by look, but underneath its bubbly surface lies a premise so fascinating that you cannot help being drawn to at first run-through. Although the main plot is not as grand as saving an entire world across time (a trend suggested by previous FF titles), when the chance encounter between a cheerful thief and a confused princess turned into a vivid tale of love, it becomes apparent that no one can be expected to save others without understanding how to secure his/her own heart first.

Play FFIX now if you have not already: it will likely be an experience you cannot forget for life.
